Nonoy leaves UST Growling Tigers

Negrense basketeer Mark Nonoy and teammate Deo Cuajao were the latest Growling Tigers who decided to depart from the University of Santo Tomas (UST), days after Coach Aldin Ayo submitted his resignation from the team.

This developed as former Alaska import Sean Chambers and former Blackwater interim coach Aries Dimaunahan confirmed their application for the job vacated Aldin Ayo.

Meanwhile, in separate statements yesterday, Nonoy and Caujao said that while it burdens them to leave the team, they need to focus on their future.

Nuggets beat Clipper
to force Game 7 decider

Denver's Nikola Jokic had game highs of 34 points, 14 rebounds and seven assists yesterday, powering the Nuggets over the Los Angeles Clippers 111-98 to level their NBA playoff series.

The Nuggets, who also had 21 points from Jamal Murray and Gary Harris, recovered from a 19-point deficit in the third quarter to match the Clippers at 3-3 in the Western Conference semifinal, setting up a winner-take-all Game Seven tomorrow.

"We don't have pressure," Jokic said. "All the pressure is on them. We have to play at a high level and give our best.”
