968 recruit quota
for Region 6 approved
BY GILBERT P. BAYORAN

The 968 allocated police recruitment quota for Western Visayas for 2020 has been approved by the National Police Commission.

There will be 600 regular recruitment quota and 268 attrition recruitment quota being allocated for Police Regional Office 6, a Napolcom resolution showed.

Region 7, which includes Negros Oriental, has been given a recruitment quota of 991.

The Napolcom resolution states that the recruitment of 16,149 new police personnel aims to offset the depleted strength of the PNP due to reorganization of the staffing pattern, creation of new offices/units, and vacancies caused by attrition and similar means, in order to consequently improve peace and order and police-to-population ratio.

Napolcom vice-chairman and executive officer Rogelio Casurao said in a statement that PNP offices and units, and members of the Screening and Selection Committee, are required to strictly follow the existing rules and regulations on the recruitment, selection and appointment of PNP uniformed personnel.

The recruitment procedure should also strictly adhere to the rules and regulations of the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases omnibus guidelines in the implementation of community quarantine to avoid being held liable to administrative sanctions.*
