BY GILBERT P. BAYORAN

A job order employee of a local government unit and four other drug suspects were arrested by the police in a series of buy-bust operations on September 4 and 5 in Negros Occidental that also yielded an estimated P140,000 worth of suspected shabu.

Policemen arrested Hernando Posadas Jr., a job order employee of the Talisay City government, during a buy-bust operation on Saturday at Hacienda Carmen in Brgy. Dos Hermanas, Talisay City, Negros Occidental.

The arrest of Posadas yielded four grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated market value of P30,000; P500 in marked money and P1,800 in cash, police said.

Another buy-bust operation on Sept. 4 also resulted in the arrest of Nanerick Legada and Nilda Castro at Quezon Extension in Brgy. 5, Victorias City.

The apprehension of the two drug suspects yielded 15 grams of suspected shabu worth P102,000, and its assorted paraphernalia, P400 in marked money, two cellular phones, and P370 in cash, police also said.

Separate buy-bust operations also led to the apprehension of Ariel Larit and Romy Pelayo, both laborers, in Brgy. Dulao, Bago City, Friday.

Recovered from Larit, 32, were 0.4 gram of suspected shabu, P500 in marked money, a cellular phone and P500 believed to be proceeds from sale of illegal drugs, according to the Bago City police.

The arrest of Pelayo also yielded 0.3 gram of suspected shabu worth P2,000, P200 in marked money and P690 in cash believed to be proceeds from the sale of illegal drugs.

Another laborer identified as Ernesto Crabajal, 51, was nabbed by the police Friday in Brgy. Tinongan, Isabela, for illegal possession of firearms.

The apprehension of Crabajal yielded a homemade .38 caliber revolver with a fired cartridge, police said.

Before his arrest, Crabajal reportedly fired his gun, in front of his house, while under the influence of liquor, a report of the Isabela police further said.*
