Guv issues new MGCQ order
BY CARLA P. GOMEZ

Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson signed an executive order yesterday extending the duration of the Modified General Community Quarantine over Negros Occidental until October 31 to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The governor warned that all persons and establishments violating the provisions of Executive Order No. 20-46 Series of 2020, as well as established health and safety protocols, will face appropriate administrative and criminal charges.

President Rodrigo Duterte approved Monday night the extension of MGCQ over Negros Occidental until October 31.

Negros Occidental has been under MGCQ since June.

Meanwhile, work at the Provincial Administrator’s Office at the Capitol in Bacolod City will resume today, Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said yesterday.

The office was locked down Tuesday afternoon after the wife of one of its employees tested positive for COVID-19.

Diaz said the employee and his four children tested negative for COVID-19 yesterday, making it safe for the staff to return to work today.

Diaz reported for work yesterday afternoon.*
