Woman hurt in shooting

A woman was injured in a shooting incident in Purok Lawayan Takas, Barangay Banago in Bacolod City, at about 4:30 a.m. yesterday.

Kimberly Villarma, 24, of the barangay, sustained a gunshot wound and was brought to the Dr. Pablo O. Torre Memorial Hospital, a police report said.

Investigation showed that Villarma and her live-in partner were walking in the purok when an unidentified man approached, shot her with an unknown caliber of firearm, and escaped, the police said, adding that a follow-up probe is ongoing to determine the motive and identify the suspect.*
