Guiao eager for PBA return

For NLEX coach Yeng Guiao, the PBA being able to return to play sooner than later would be a great contribution to the general public.

Guiao said PBA resumption would provide entertainment and more importantly hope and inspiration that the Filipino people can get back to normal life if each one follows protocols and guidelines set by the government to beat the COVID-19 pandemic.

The veteran mentor said there are the examples of various big leagues abroad that the PBA can follow.

"There are many concepts and ideas already being discussed. There's the Germany model for their Bundesliga which has resumed," said Guiao.

And there are the protocols set in the resumption of sports plays in South Korea and Taiwan, and the parameters guiding NBA teams in their return to practices.

He said PBA will have its own set of protocols and the PBA Board are already talking about it right now.

Guiao is among those batting to save PBA Season 45, even with the holding of one tourney, convinced these would provide hope and inspiration to the people.

"There’s already lockdown fatigue. That's the price we have to pay for now. But we can contribute to ease the situation. If they can see that the PBA is moving then it can give hope and set direction. We can help as a league," he added.*pba.ph
