Brgy SAP budget goes viral
BY CHRYSEE G. SAMILLANO

Banago Barangay Captain Ricky Mijares yesterday said that he was surprised to know that their proposed budget for the second release of the Social Amelioration Program (SAP) amounting to P232,050 became viral on social media when he has not yet approved and signed it.

Mijares said only he and the Banago Barangay Council knew about the proposed budget, which is still under deliberation and subject for the council’s approval.

After the barangay council approves the budget, it will be submitted to him for review and his own approval, Mijares said.

He claimed that the proposed budget covering the second release of the SAP from June 23 to 25 was posted by Kagawad Arlo Acebedo Jr. on his social media account.

Mijares said Acebedo is out to discredit him since has plans of running for barangay captain in the next election.

He stressed that he will review the proposed budget and evaluate if adjustments can be made to reduce the total amount.

The proposed budget indicates expenses for snacks for three days amounting to P86,400; catering (lunch) - P31,500; lunch for volunteers - P39,450; lechon (2 days) - P10,000; fruits (3 days) - P3,000; bottled water - P16,500; Coke product (dagol) - 14,400; paper plates - P1,200; styro cups - P1,050; plastic spoon and fork - P750; face masks/gloves/alcohol/thermal scanner and other supplies - P15,000; LPG - P800 and three sacks of rice - P7,500.*
