Returning Negrense intercepted

A locally stranded individual from Danao City in Cebu was intercepted at the South Ceres Terminal in Bacolod City, Saturday.

P/Lt. Rondyl Tapang, head of the Bacolod City Police Office-Mobile Force Company, said yesterday that the woman LSI, who is a resident of Hinigaran town in Negros Occidental, rode on a truck from Danao.

The truck boarded a Roll-on Roll-off vessel from Cebu to a port in Escalante City, Negros Occidental, Tapang said.

He said the woman alighted from the truck in front of the bus terminal, and asked about a bus going to Hinigaran.

Tapang said the LSI has complete medical documents from the local government unit in Cebu where she came from. However, the health protocol for LSIs in Negros Occidental should still be followed, he said.

The receiving LGU should be the one fetching the LSIs on board a designated vehicle or ambulance and subject them to mandatory quarantine, Tapang said.

LSIs should not be allowed to ride a public transportation, he said.

The concerned LSI was later fetched by the ambulance of Hinigaran, Tapang added.*
