DPWH declogs manhole
BY CHRYSEE G. SAMILLANO

Bacolod District Engineer Abraham Villareal yesterday said their maintenance crew had already declogged the manhole along Burgos-Lacson streets in Bacolod City, where water was spurting out Sunday after a heavy downpour.

A video showing rainwater overflowing from a manhole along Burgos-Lacson streets Sunday was caused by clogged drainage system, he said.

Villareal assured the public that this will not happen again since the DPWH maintenance crew had already cleaned up the clogged drainage line that leads to the Mandalagan River.

Meanwhile, the DPWH has submitted a report of its physical accomplishment of ongoing projects and infrastructure projects under pre-construction activities as of May 30 to the Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod.

The report includes its flood management project, water management facilities, road construction and repair, construction of drainage system, construction and rehabilitation of multi-purpose buildings, construction and improvement of access roads, and construction of local bridges.*
