The police seized P368,000 in illegal drugs and arrested nine persons in Bacolod and Negros Occidental yesterday.
The police arrested four persons and seized about P224,000 worth of suspected shabu in a buy-bust operation in Purok Otso, Barangay Tangub in Bacolod City, at about 4:05 a.m. yesterday.
Operatives of Station 2 nabbed Marlon Tanilon, alias “Choco”, 46, Lucil Antolo, alias “Inday”, 51, Prince Legaspi, alias “Jojo”, 36, and John Patrick Arca, alias “Chin-Chin”, 35, of Barangay Tangub, a police report said.
The operation was led by Station 2 chief, Maj. Sherlock Gabana, with Tanilon as the target, and yielded 19 sachets of suspected shabu, including the buy-bust item, all weighing 28 grams, P500 in marked money, drug paraphernalia, and P440 in cash, police records show.
Antolo is Tanilon’s business partner, while Legaspi and Arca are the ones repacking the items, Gabana said.
He said the repacked shabu are being delivered to customers, who are usually not from Bacolod.
Tanilon and Antolo are classified as street-level individuals.
Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are being readied against the four suspects, who are now detained at the custodial facility of Station 2.
Meanwhile, an estimated P144,000 worth of illegal drugs and three motorcycles were seized yesterday by the police from five drug suspects arrested in separate police operations in Negros Occidental.
Three of the drug suspects were arrested yesterday by the police in Brgy. 4, Silay City, Negros Occidental.
Nabbed during the buy-bust operation were Clemdick Mel Dionio, Joel Ganancial and Ian Baylon of Silay City.
Aside from nine grams of suspected shabu, with a street market value of P135,000 and two motorcycles, the Silay police also recovered P500 in marked money, a disposable lighter and a small black pouch.
Policemen also arrested Godfrey Ebro in another buy-bust operation at Bantayan Park in Bergy. Poblacion, Bago City yesterday.
The apprehension of Ebro, a resident of Brgy. Zone 2, Pulupandan, yielded an estimated two grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P8,000, a Rusi motorcycle, a cellular phone, P500 in marked money and P202 in cash.
Policemen also arrested Rabben Deso-Acido, 20, in another buy-bust operation on Sunday at PurokPinya in Brgy. Bunga, Salvador Benedicto, Negros Occidental.
The arrest of Deso-Acido yielded 0.03 gram of suspected shabu, with a street market value of P1,500 and P300 in marked money.*
