Student found dead

A Grade 11 student was found dead hanging from an Indian mango tree in Purok Paghidaet, Barangay Tangub in Bacolod City, at about 8:30 p.m. Saturday.

The 18-year-old victim, whose name the police withheld, was found lifeless by his brother, a police report said.

Initial investigation showed the victim tied a rope around his neck and hanged himself.

Further investigation is being done and an autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of his death, the police said.

Meanwhile, police apprehended 94 individuals for not wearing face masks and not practicing social distancing in Bacolod City Friday, the Bacolod City Police Office reported.

Most of the violators were caught in the areas of Police Station 1, covering 20 numbered barangays, including the downtown and reclamation area, and PS10, that has jurisdiction over barangays Felisa and Handumanan.*
