PH wins FIBA Esports Open
Southeast Asian championship

The Philippines only needed a Game 3 win to clinch the FIBA Esports Open Southeast Asian Conference championship but still exited Day 2 with another two-match domination on Saturday night.

The Filipino side formalized their series win against Indonesia with a 66-34 Game 3 victory, but their dominance continued in Game 4 with a 79-44 rout after they pulled away in the second half.

Rial Polog's hot shooting in both games earned him Most Valuable Player honors for the night.

"Coach just told us that we should have no mercy from the first to the fourth quarter. This means we are bringing out the best we can do," Polog said after the Game 4 rout.

The Philippines opened its account with a wire-to-wire 56-29 victory before pulling away just before halftime to hack out a 64-30 Game 2 rout.

Playing against Indonesia as of press time, a win for the Philippines would complete the five-game sweep for the Filipinos.*PNA
