Police seize shabu, guns

The series of anti-drug operations in Negros Occidental during the weekend led to the seizure of more than P230,000 worth of suspected shabu and guns with ammunition.

A drug suspect identified as Edward Diva, 28, was apprehended yesterday during a buy-bust operation in Brgy. Tortosa, Manapla, Negros Occidental.

Capt. Jaynick Bermudez, Manapla police officer-in-charge, said in his report to the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office, that the arrest of Diva yielded 0.90 gram of suspected shabu with a street market value of P3,500, and P500 in marked money.

The police also seized about 10 grams of suspected shabu with a street market value of P150,000 from a drug suspect identified by the police as Marvin Santillan, who was arrested on Saturday in another buy-bust operation at Hacienda Malisbog 1 in Brgy. Hawaiian, Silay City.

Aside from the suspected shabu, the Silay police led by Maj. Rollie Pondevilla also recovered P4,000 in marked money, including the P3,500 boodle money, a disposable lighter, and a Mentos canister.

The apprehension of Roy Cabison Sr., and his younger brother, Romel, on June 12 in Purok Progreso, Brgy. Tapi, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental, also yielded six grams of suspected shabu, with a street market value of P80,000, assorted shabu paraphernalia, a 357 caliber revolver with five live ammunition, an improvised 12 gauge shotgun with a magazine containing two ammunition, a cellular phone, P100 in marked money and P1,892 in cash.*
