Almost P1M in shabu seized
BY SHIELA G. GELERA

Close to P1 million worth of suspected shabu was seized in Bacolod City Friday and Saturday.

Operatives of the Bacolod City Drug Enforcement Unit launched a series of buy-bust operations that led to the arrest of six persons and the confiscation of P931,000 worth of suspected shabu, late Friday evening, and Saturday.

Norvic Nacanaynay, Efren Gonzaga, and Michael Villanueva were collared in Purok Sigay, Barangay 2, Bacolod, at about 11 p.m. Friday, a police report said.

CDEU personnel recovered from them eight sachets of suspected shabu, weighing 26 grams and with an estimated value of P286,000, P500 in marked money, an improvised tooter with visible traces of suspected shabu, a lighter, a bamboo clip, and a pouch, police records show.

At about 11:50 p.m. Friday, CDEU operatives also nabbed two women for allegedly engaging in the illegal drug trade in front of Klausi Tapsilogan at Galo-Lopez Jaena Street in Barangay 27, Bacolod.

Editha Rose Sepe, alias “Apple”, 35, and Mariel Salmingo, alias “Bebe”, 22, both of Barangay 27 in Bacolod, were caught with three sachets of suspected shabu, worth P40,000, P500 in marked money, and a coin purse, police records show.

About P605,000 worth of suspected shabu was confiscated from Reynaldo Villaespin, alias “Pute”, 38, during a buy-bust operation in Purok Progreso, Barangay Taculing in Bacolod, at about 3:15 a.m. Saturday, the police said.

The arrest of Villaespin yielded 18 sachets of suspected shabu, P500 in marked money, and P1,000 in cash believed to be proceeds from the sale of illegal drugs, police records show.

Meanwhile, agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-6 Special Enforcement Team, with personnel from the PDEA-Guimaras Provincial Office, collared Jerry Reyes and seized from him two grams of suspected shabu in Purok Nangka, Barangay 3 in Bacolod, at about 3 p.m. Friday, the PDEA-6 reported.*
