Another coronavirus disease (COVID-19) frontliner has tested positive for the virus and the entire Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (PRRMO) team of Pontevedra town in Negros Occidental has been placed in isolation as a precautionary measure, Mayor Jose Maria Alonso said yesterday.

Alonso said 125 households in Pontevedra have been locked down.

The 26-year-old male Pontevedra first responder was one of nine Negrenses and a Bacolod resident who were identified to have tested positive for COVID-19 by the Department of Health Saturday. moremoremore


23 rapid test in Murcia reactive

Eighteen Barangay Minoyan residents and five social welfare personnel of Murcia, Negros Occidental, were reactive to rapid tests conducted after an ambulance driver from the town tested positive for COVID-19 and have all been quarantined, Murcia Mayor Victor Gerardo Rojas said yesterday.

However, Rojas stressed that the reactive rapid test results are not conclusive for COVID-19 and the 23 have been swabbed for Reverse Transcription-Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests, which results have yet to be released.

The 47-year-old ambulance driver is a member of the Emergency Response Unit of the Negros Occidental Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (PDRRMO), who is now quarantined at the EB Magalona healing center. moremoremore

MBCCI to help match jobseekers
with member-companies: Carbon

The Metro Bacolod Chamber of Commerce and Industry will help match job seekers, especially those who were laid off due to the coronavirus pandemic, with its member-companies.

Frank Carbon, chief executive officer of MBCCI, announced over the weekend that they will receive resumes from those who are looking for jobs, and they can send through email at bacolodcci@yahoo.com.

He said job applicants must include their picture and contact details in the applications.
