Sipalay ban on tourists until Sept. 15

The city government of Sipalay, tagged the Jewel of the South, yesterday extended the temporary ban on the entry of tourists until September 15.

Mayor Maria Gina Lizares issued an executive order yesterday, extending the moratorium on tourism-related and non-essential travel to the city.

The EO also requires returning residents from high-risk areas in Negros Occidental to present a valid Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction negative test result.

Western Visayans
urged to support census

The public is encouraged to support the 2020 Census of Population and Housing (CPH) and be truthful in providing information to enumerators, 2,685 of them to be deployed in Negros Occidental and Bacolod City.

Marlene Alviar, officer-in-charge of the Regional Statistical Services Office 6, said that 9,819 enumerators, team supervisors, and area supervisors have been tapped to do the census in the region, and the month-long enumeration will start on September 1.

The enumerators to be deployed in Aklan number 735, Antique – 790, Capiz – 849, Guimaras – 202, and Iloilo city and province - 2,648.
