Agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-6 Special Enforcement Team seized about P714,000 worth of suspected shabu in two buy-bust operations in Bacolod City, Monday and yesterday.
Joebem Hermosura and Fernando Tandoy, tagged as high value targets, were arrested with 55 grams of suspected shabu, worth P374,000, at Cottage Road in Purok Matahum, Barangay Mansilingan in Bacolod, at about 3:50 p.m. Monday, the PDEA-6 reported.
Two more HVTs were collared with P340,000 worth of suspected shabu in a buy-bust operation in Barangay 19, Bacolod, at about 5:15 p.m. yesterday.
Jay Lord Lapi and Emily Castin were nabbed with five sachets of “shabu”, weighing about 50 grams, P22,500 in buy-bust money, P100 in subscribed money, and a cellular phone, records show.
Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are being readied against those arrested.*SGG
Meanwhile, the police accounted for 19 drugs suspects and recovered P383,874 worth of suspected shabu during a week-long operations in Negros Occidental from August 17 to 23.
P/Col. Romy Palgue, officer-in-charge of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office, said yesterday that they received a commendation from PNP chief Gen. Archie Francisco Gamboa for their accomplishments against illegal drugs.
In the campaign against illegal gambling, 71 violators were arrested, as well as three most wanted persons and 50 fugitives.
Palgue also reported that the crime volume in Negros Occidental dropped by 38.56 percent during the period from August 17 to 23, compared to the previous week from August 10 to 16.
Meanwhile, another police personnel of NOCPPO tested positive for COVID-19, bringing to three the number of PNP members infected by the virus.
