Talisay cops get guns
BY GILBERT P. BAYORAN

The firepower of the Talisay City Police Station in Negros Occidental got a boost after it received 13 brand new Galil assault rifles from the city government headed by Mayor Neil Lizares.

P/Capt. Julius Caesar Colado, Talisay City deputy police chief, said yesterday that the new high-powered firearms will be issued to the city police SWAT (Special Weapons and Tactics) personnel.

Colado said the Talisay City government is also planning to purchase SWAT tactical gear including body armors, helmets, bandoleers, and ammunition, and boots, among other personal equipment.

Yesterday, Lizares turned over the firearms to Maj. Jigger Gimeno, Talisay City police chief, in the presence of police SWAT personnel, and Talisay City officials.*
