Motorcycle thief hurt
BY SHIELA G. GELERA

An alleged motorcycle thief was injured when he fell from the motorcycle he had stolen while trying to escape and was mauled by bystanders at Ipil Extension in Barangay Villamonte, Bacolod City, at about 7:15 p.m. Thursday.

Jared Banay, 39, sustained bruises on his knee, head and arm, a police report said.

Investigation showed that the owner of the orange Yamaha Mio Soul 125 motorcycle caught Banay stealing his motorcycle in front of the Medical Hub at B.S. Aquino Drive in Barangay Villamonte.

The complainant chased Banay and recovered the motorcycle from him, when bystanders blocked the suspect, and mauled him.

Banay was brought to Police Station 4 and he may face charges for motorcycle theft.*
