A curfew violator was arrested with suspected shabu in Purok Avocado, Barangay 20 in Bacolod City, at about 10 p.m. Thursday.
Nabbed was Christopher Lao, 41, of the barangay, a police report said.
Patrolmen Danilo Pango and Feb Jun Perez, beat patrollers at the Burgos patrol base, were implementing the curfew when they saw a man, later identified as Lao, who ran toward a squatter area when they approached.
Lao initially resisted arrest. Recovered from his pocket were a heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet of suspected shabu worth P1,500, and a keypad cellular phone, police records show.
The police are readying charges against Lao for violation of Bacolod Executive Order 53 that extends the Modified General Community Quarantine in Bacolod for the fifth time, Revised Penal Code Article 151, or resistance and disobedience to a person in authority or agents of such person, and Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Lao is now detained at the custodial facility of Station 4.
Meanwhile, 43 more individuals were apprehended for violating the curfew from 8 p.m. Thursday up to 6 a.m. yesterday.
The violators were caught in barangays 16, Mandalagan, Bata, Estefania, Villamonte, Granada, Taculing, Mansilingan, Pahanocoy, and Sum-ag, the Bacolod City Police Office reported.*
