Noceco power rates down in August

The residential rates of Negros Occidental Electric Cooperative have decreased by 5.89 percent in August.

Jonas Discaya, Noceco general manager, said the rates for this month decreased by P0.5395, from July’s billing of P9.1617 per kilowatt hour (kWh) to P8.6222 per kWh.

The main drivers of the lower electricity rates this month were the P0.4841 per kWh decrease in the generation charge, from P4.6042 to P4.1201 per kWh, reduction of P1.1538 per kWh from the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market, the P0.0147 per kWh drop in the Power Supply Agreement with Palm Concepcion Power Corporation, and the P0.1627 per kWh decrease in the PSA with KEPCO SPC Power Corporation, he said.
