DSWD to set SAP 2 release
BY CHRYSEE G. SAMILLANO

The schedule for the release of the second tranche of Social Amelioration Program (SAP) to the second batch of beneficiaries in Bacolod City will be set by the Department of Social Welfare and Development regional office and not by the local Department of Social Services office.

This was stressed by Bacolod DSSD head Pacita Tero, who said that their officials will only assist the DSWD regional office in the SAP distribution and will inform the beneficiaries as soon as the payroll arrives.

Tero made the clarification after residents of Purok Riverside in Brgy. Tangub, Bacolod City inquired with their office about the schedule of the SAP distribution since the lockdown in their purok has been lifted.

The first batch of beneficiaries of the second tranche of SAP of about 75,000 households have already been paid, Tero said, adding that they are still waiting for the schedule of the DSWD for the second batch of beneficiaries of about 22,000 households.

She said that the DSWD regional office has just uploaded the names of the beneficiaries and the list is now being cross-matched.

Bacolod City is one of the few cities that was given the SAP second tranche among the 146 cities nationwide.

Records show the first tranche benefitted 98,143 residents, while the second tranche will benefit 97,266 Bacoleños.

A total of P188.5 million will go to the 15,713 households who were listed as “left out” or those who did not avail of the first tranche.

The total releases for Bacolod will amount to about P1.3 billion.*
