5th district residents get help

 

Rep. Ma. Lourdes “Marilou” Arroyo (Neg. Occ., 5th District) has ensured that 2,575 beneficiaries in the 5th District of Negros Occidental receive Covid-19 assistance under the Aid to Individual in Crisis Situation (AICS) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development, a press release from her office said.

Of the 2,575 beneficiaries, 400 are from the 30 barangays of Isabela, 375 from 24 barangays in Hinigaran, 350 from 16 barangays in Binalbagan, 350 from 19 barangays in Himamaylan City, and 350 from 13 barangays of La Castellana, who each received P2,000, the press release said.

Meanwhile, 750 beneficiaries from 15 barangays in Moises Padilla received P1,000 each, it added.

Arroyo said she hopes that the assistance can help the families affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Eligible beneficiaries who were identified by their barangay captains are those who did not receive assistance from the Department of Social Welfare and Development, Social Amelioration Program, Department of Labor and Employment Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers, Department of Agriculture, and Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program.

Since the start of the implementation of community quarantine to combat Covid-19, Arroyo has been providing assistance to her district such as giving food packs, personal protective equipment, and financial assistance, the press release added.*
