Power advisory council
pushed in Negros Occ.
BY MARCHEL P. ESPINA

Consumer and labor groups in Negros Occidental are pushing for the creation of a Power Advisory and Consultative Council that will serve as an operating mechanism in every city and municipality of the province, Wennie Sancho, secretary-general of Power Watch Negros, said yesterday.

He said that representatives of PACC shall come from the workers and consumers sectors, as well as representatives from the management of electric companies and local governments.

He said issues and concerns that should be given priorities by the PACC include the workers' security of tenure and economic status in the electric company amid the pandemic, the capacity of the worker-consumer to pay their monthly electric bills due to reduced income with the implementation of the flexible working arrangement scheme.
