PNP honors outstanding personnel


The Police Regional Office 6 yesterday marked the Police Service anniversary by honoring outstanding police personnel and units all over Western Visayas, 11 of them from Negros Occidental.

Col. Gilbert Gorero, PRO 6 spokesperson, said yesterday that the highlight of the activity was the giving of awards and recognition to police personnel and units, who displayed excellence in the field of law enforcement, both in administrative and operational aspects that contributed much to the stable peace and order situation in the Western Visayas.

The unit awardees from Negros Occidental included Cadiz City Police Station led by Lt. Col. Robert Mansueto, being adjudged as best component city police station in Western Visayas, 2nd Negros Occidental Mobile Force Company as best provincial mobile force company, and 605th Company of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 6 as best regional mobile force company.

The Cadiz City Police Station also received P50,000 as cash incentive for being the best component city police station in Western Visayas.

Col. Henry Biñas, acting director of the Bacolod City Police Office, was adjudged best Senior Police Commissioned Officer for Operation.

PMSgt. Mary June Fuentes of the Kabankalan City Police Station was named best Women and Children Protection Desk in the component city police station category.

Other unit special awardees were the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office, Silay City Police Station, Sagay and San Carlos City Police Stations, Cauayan Police Station, as well as Kabankalan City Police Station, Police Stations 1 and 2 of the Bacolod City Police Office, that were also cited for their accomplishment in the campaign against illegal drugs and gambling, as well as in the implementation of special projects, respectively.

Police Colonels Julio Gustilo Jr and Kenneth Lucas and PSSG Ethel de Felix also received special awards for their accomplishment in COVID-19.

Gorero said that PRO 6 virtually joined in the Police Service celebration of the PNP national headquarters at Camp Crame in Quezon City with safety and health protocols observed during the entire activity.

“We will continue to man the borders, we will continue to monitor communities and, more importantly, we will continue to prevent and solve crimes. This is our commitment and our promise”, Brig. Gen. Rene Pamuspusan, regional police director of Western Visayas, said in a statement issued by PRO6.*
