Senior citizen found dead

A 46-year-old man is now in jail, after admitting that he was responsible for the death of his stepmother on Aug. 1, in Brgy. Jerusalem, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental, police yesterday said.

The suspect, identified as Angelito Sibuyan, 46, gave himself up to the Cadiz City police, following the discovery of the cadaver of his stepmother, Andiolina Sibuyan, 62, at a riverbank in Sitio Panaquion of the barangay.

Initial investigations of the Cadiz City police showed that the suspect confessed to have strangled the victim using his hands, and buried her in the riverbank, after she died.

The suspect is now being held at the custodial facility of the Cadiz City Police Station.*
