Negrense artist opens gallery

Negrense artist Pablita “Ablit” Solatorio-Nava opened her own gallery in Talisay City, Negros Occidental Sunday, with former Bacolod councilor Jocelle Batapa-Sigue as guest of honor.

The Ablit Art Studio and Gallery is located at 7 Domingo Lizares Street, Talisay City.

Nava, a retired teacher, only discovered her artistic talent when she reached 60 years old, and she has been painting for about six years now.

She is an active member of the Art Association of Bacolod-Negros.*

L’Fisher all set for Christmas

The Christmas tree of L’Fisher Hotel in Bacolod City was lighted up to bring cheer to another festive season of blessings and good tidings, recently.

Bacolod Rep. Greg Gasataya, hotel resident manager Victor James Alcantara and chief executive officer Delia Ciocon-Granada started the evening's event with the traditional lighting of the Christmas tree, a press release from the hotel said.

Included in the ceremony was the launch of the Tree of Hope project, a fundraiser for the benefit of Welcome Home Foundation and the hotel also pledged P100 to the cause for every r egular paying Ripples buffet guest that night.

Guests were treated to performances by the Garcia-Sanchez School of Dance, a special performance by the beneficiary, Welcome Home Foundation, and an acoustic performance by Light Gauge.*
