Two more violent incidents took place on Thursday in Sipalay City and Candoni, Negros Occidental, with relatives of the victims as the suspects, who caused the death of one of the victims and injury of another.

Two suspects in the brutal killing of Lito Bawa-an on Thursday at Strangers Paradise Village in Brgy. San Jose, Sipalay City, were arrested by the police, about two hours after the commission of the crime.

Nabbed by Sipalay policemen and troopers of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 6 were Bonifacio Tabanao, brother-in-law of the victim, and his nephew, Jay R Bacornay.

Bawa-an succumbed to multiple injuries, after he was hacked and stabbed by the two suspects, with a bolo and a kitchen knife.

The victim was declared dead on arrival at the Sipalay City Health Office, while the two suspects are now in jail.

A father is now who in jail, after he allegedly hacked his own son Thursday night in Brgy. Cadia-an, Candoni, Negros Occidental.

Capt. Julius Caesar Colado, officer-in-charge of the Candoni Police Station, said yesterday that the suspect, identified as 58-year-old Joel Villanueva Sr. hacked his own son, Joel Jr., in the head, when he came home under the influence of liquor.

The elder Villanueva immediately surrendered to the Candoni Police Station, while his injured son is now being treated at the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital in Bacolod City.

The motive for the hacking incident is still being established by the police.*
