The provincial government of Negros Occidental is urging hog raisers to produce local ham for the coming holidays, Provincial Veterinarian Renante Decena said yesterday.
This move is also meant to address the concerns of the public about the ham supply for December in the province, following the 90-day ban of the provincial government on the entry of pork and pork products from Luzon, that will end on December 18, to keep Negros Occidental free from the dreaded African swine fever virus, he said.
