When Elsie turned 60

In her ballerina type gown of muted pink and violet, Elsie Meguiso (nee Ureta), looked more like a debutante than a woman of 60 after retiring from her accounting government job in Moises Padilla town in southern Negros Occidental.

But she opted to hold her big day in Bacolod where a lot of her friends and relatives are now staying, and because those from her town were only too happy to come to Bacolod.

Anyway, it was a very successful affair with Elsie herself acting not only as host, but also as emceein the ensuing program, calling on her friends, former officemates, and kin, to come to the stage to give their messages to her, as her doting husband, Rodel, watched approvingly.

Of course, the Visayan DAILY STAR was ably represented, after all, her first job in Bacolod was with the VDS partner company, STAR Printing Corporation, where she shared the agonies and ecstasies of their starting days.

Happy birthday again, Elsie, but we missed your sis, Elvie, another “martyr” to our cause!*
