Sta. Ana takes legal
action vs. NOPSSCEA

The Colegio de Sta. Ana – Victorias, through its lawyer William Mirano, asked the Negros Occidental Private Schools Sports, Cultural and Educational Association (NOPSSCEA) to provide the school a copy of the report of its investigation relative to the Nov. 2 brawl during the high school basketball semi-finals between CSA-V and STI-West Negros University at the latter’s homecourt.

Sta. Ana also asked for a copy of the minutes of the meeting among NOPSSCEA officials the day after the incident, during which it was decided to impose a one game suspension on both CSA-V and STI-WNU, thus declaring Bacolod Tay Tung High School as champion by default.

In his Nov. 8, 2019 letter addressed to NOPSSCEA president Mark Ryan Molina, Mirano, representing CSA-V, is also inquiring about the sanction meted to STI-WNU head coach Dennis “Jack” Tumayan after a video footage circulated online showing him violently confronting a CSA-V player.

Ceres to face Kaya in Copa Final
after comeback win vs. Stallions

Ceres-Negros came from two goals down last night to produce a 4-3 victory over Stallion Laguna and set up a Nov. 16 Final clash against Kaya – Iloilo in the 2019 Copa Paulino Alcantara at the Biñan Football Stadium in Laguna.

Stephan Schrock and Mike Ott each scored a brace for the Busmen while Edris-Nasser Najim, Abou Sy, and Jan Melliza scored apiece for Stallion.

“We are so very happy with the result,” said Assitant Coach Ian Treyes. “Two down but we came back with the 2-0 win. We played our best in the second half and each one, especially Schrocky, gave their 100 percent.”
