Resigned POC execs barred
from attending July 8 meeting

Resigned members of the Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) Executive Board cannot attend the scheduled special meeting on July 8.

This was indicated in the July 4 letter sent to the POC by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), which received two notices from different groups calling for a special board meeting next week.

"This is adding confusion to the existing situation," said the letter signed by James Macleod, IOC director of Olympic Solidarity and National Olympic Relations, and Husain Al-Musallan, Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) director general and technical director.

Beermen top Road Warriors in PBA

NBA first-round draftee Chris McCullough took the PBA by storm, unloading a barrage of three-pointers to highlight a spectacular 47-point performance for San Miguel Beer last night.

And taking the cue from their new import, the Beermen snapped out of the rut, repulsing the NLEX Road Warriors, 109-105, to catch up with the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters at eighth place in the PBA Commissioner's Cup at the MOA Arena.

McCullough waxed hottest in the third period, stringing up three straight treys to spike their searing breakaway from 51-52 down at the half.
