The Social Security System in Dumaguete City launched recently a new electronic mobile application for members’ easy access to their personal information and records.
The launching at Quezon Park in Dumaguete also gave an opportunity for Negrenses to register and avail of the data capture for unified members’ identification.
Vice president Lilani Benedian of SSS Visayas West 1 Division said the initiative aims to reach out to more members and give them fast and convenient services. She noted that the captured clients during the launching of the e-mobile services at the park were the masseurs and persons with disabilities, who are members of the ALKANSSYA program, including the job order workers of the city government. She said other services offered were the issuance of SSS number and updating of records of members, like a change of status or address.
The SSS officers also explained the new Expanded Maternity Leave Law under Republic Act 11199, that covers all female workers in the private sector, including employees, the self-employed, overseas Filipino workers, and voluntary members.
In its circular, SSS requires employers to fully pay the maternity benefits in advance, or within 30 days from the filing of the maternity leave application. With the opening of the e-mobile services, Benedian said SSS intensifies its efforts to reach out to more members to avail of the benefits, such as sickness, maternity, retirement, death, funeral, and disability.
Among the information that can be accessed via the SSS Mobile App are contribution status, sickness, maternity, disability and retirement claim information, Employees Compensation medical status, salary loan application status and outstanding balance, location of SSS branch offices, and documentary requirements for SSS membership, benefit claims application (i.e. sickness, maternity, EC Medical, disability, retirement, funeral, and death), personal data amendment, and UMID Card enrollment.*
