Blue and Gold awardees
Fifteen alumni of the University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos received the Blue and Gold Alumni Association Distinguished Alumni Achievers awards in this year's Grand Alumni Night at the SMX Convention Center in Bacolod City Saturday.
Those awarded were graduates of the then Occidental Negros Institute and the University of Negros Occidental, now the UNO-R, who have given pride to their alma mater through exemplary performance in their respective field and significant contributions to the society the Recoleto way.
The awardees are Richelle Hofilena (Allied Health Sciences), Ma. Amita Nunez (Sports and Physical Therapy), Commodore Joel Garcia (Government Service), Patrick Jacob Ancheta (Special Education), Engr. Mark Santiago (Electrical Engineering);
Yasmin Pascual-Dormido (Broadcast Journalism), Chona Villaluna Gosiaoco (Social Communications), Dr. Cirila "Lilac" Limpangog (Women's Rights and Gender Equality), Engr. Wilfredo Salgado (Structural Engineering, Design and Construction), Liza Socorro Manzano (Geoscientific, Mining Development and Environmental Geohazard Prevention);
Lawyer Jean Tinsay-Limtengco (International, Immigration and Family Law), Dr. Crispina Diego (Educational Management), Dr. Dina Genzola (Agriculture), Ma. Vicenta Torrevillas (Arts and Humanities), and Antonio Gargarita (Cooperative Management).
UNO-R vice president for Academics, Fr. Don Besana, and BGAA president Angelus Diamante awarded the alumni.
Carlos Eduardo Legaspi, director for external affairs, and his daughter, CJ, presented the awardees.
Bacolod Mayor Bing Leonardia, who is also an alumnus of UNO-R School of Law, spoke at the awarding ceremony.* SGG
