faces Kaya in PFL

Two days after clinching the ASEAN title in the AFC Cup, Ceres-Negros returns to the field today to play against Kaya –Makati in the Philippines Football League at the University of Makati Stadium.

The Busmen are expected to once again display the brand of soccer brilliance that earned them the ASEAN crown against some the best squads in the regions, including AFC Cup 2015 champion Johor DarulTa'zim of Malaysia.

Kaya, however, looks to bounce back from a recent loss against Meralco-Manila. Makati salvages a 1-1 draw against Negros during the PFL season opener in May.

Negrenses shine in PBA D-League

Negrenses Raymar “Toto” Jose and Pao Javelona topscored for their respective team Thursday night in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup semi-finals at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

Jose scored 17 points to lead Cignal past Javelona's Marinerong Pilipino, 86-67. Javelona finished with 11 points for the Skippers.

As his stint in the SEA Games draws near, the game against Marinero was touted to be Jose's farewell game.

He led the Cignal Hawkeyes breakaway in the third quarter, in which the team led by as much as 24 points at 62-38.

Rain or Shine keeps Welcoat
winles as Glasurit ends Polygloss unbeaten run

Rain or Shine took their time Thursday night then stepped on the gas pedal in the fourth quarter, running away with a 113-103 victory over Welcoat at the ABC- Asian Coatings Philippines Cup in Talisay City.

Still searching for their first victory in the tournament, Welcoat look composed in the first three quarters leading by eight points heading into the last 12 minutes of the game.

Arjay Jamero teamed up with Christian Maravilla to overhaul the eight-point deficit using their youthful legs to outrun the weary Welcoat side.
