Pepsi Cola Products Philippines Inc. has committed its continuous support to the local sugarcane farmers and workers to be able to sustain the industry, Bacolod Plant General Manager DelfinDizon said yesterday at a press conference at the Sugarland Hotel,Bacolod City.
Dizon said all the hard work of sugarcane farmers will be reciprocated through their continuous buying of Negros produced sugar to be used in their beverages.
“We have totally taken care of our community and we have talked with the director that the (Bacolod) plant will not entertain any drop of High Fructose Corn Syrup,” he said.
Slaughterhouse inspection set
An inspection of theBacolod City Slaughterhouse to ensure that it is observingproper procedures in slaughtering hogs, is being planned soon, Bacolod Councilor Bart Orola said.
Orola,chairman of the SangguniangPanlungsod Committee on Markets and Slaughterhouse, said there are different procedures or requirements for slaughtering hogs to be sold in the markets and for those to be roasted or sold by lechon vendors.
During a committee hearing he conducted Thursday, he said that lechon vendors requested for a refrigerated van to transport meat products from the slaughterhouse.
BSP to conduct learning program
The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas will conduct an Economic and Financial Learning Program in Victorias City, Negros Occidental, August 14 to 17.
EFLP is BSP's flagship program that includes a series of learning sessions to promote greater public awareness and understanding of key economic and financial issues among its stakeholders, its press release said.
This is the fourth leg of the program in Victorias and will include the conduct of Project BSP Reaches Out, Be up to Speed on BSP, Know Your Money Briefing module for cash handlers, Financial Education Expo and Paghahanda sa Kinabukasan programs.
