Sprint 4t Enduro prevails in
game 1 vs. Rev-X Pantra

Sprint 4t Enduro upset top seed Rev-X Pantra, 83-82, Friday in their first encounter in the semi-finals of the 35 and below category of the FIl-Sino Inter-Color Petron Cup at Tay Tung High School Po Hang Gym.

The two teams will clash anew tomorrow with the winner advancing to the finals.

Meanwhile, No. 2 Sprint 4t Racer advances to the finals with a victory against Rev-X All Terrain, 90-81.

Burly Sukhraj Sekhon came up big at crunchtime as he scored in the shaded area to give Sprint 4t Enduro a 1-point advantage. Ramon Khey knocked down two free throws to return the lead back to Rev-X Pantra but Sekhon scored anew on an offensive putback with 8 seconds left as Rev-X Pantra bungled on its last play as time expired.

Rev-X Pantra started out with a commanding 30-11 advantage in the first quarter behind Shinley Uy's 15 points with support from teammates Brian Coo and Nico Yap adding 6 points apiece even as Sekhon shot 7 points for Sprint 4t Enduro.

Sprint 4t Enduro responded with a rampage in the second quarter to take the lead at the break, 43-38, behind Robbie Jalandoon and Richie Militante who scored 10 and 8 points, respectively, while teammates Brix Arrobang and Kako Lacson helped with 6 points apiece.

It was a nip and tuck battle in the payoff quarter as Sprint 4t Enduro lead of 64-58 slowly disappeared with Carlo Chu and Shinley Uy combining for 14 points. But Sprint 4t Enduro came out on top in the end behind Militante, Arrobang and Sekhon .

Militante paced Sprint 4t Enduro with 22 points, Jalandoon shot 14, Sekhon dropped 12, Lacson hit 11, Arrobang had 10 points and Jasper Geolingo with 8 points.

Shinley Uy had a game-high 25 points, Nico Yap added 16, Brian Coo produced 13 points, Carlo Chu scored 10, and Ramon Khey with 8 points.

Meanwhile, Sprint 4t Racer pulled away at the right time in the fourth quarter against Rev-X All Terrain as they recovered from a third quarter deficit.

RB Chua and Arnol Laureño scored 10 and 8 points, respectively for Sprint 4t Racer with a support from Alvin Dionela, Bam Bam Guevarra and Alvan Rodriguez. Foul Trouble to key players and a height and heft disadvantage proved to be the waterloo of Rev-X All Terrain in the end game.

Laureño topscored with 21 points, Chua added19, Dionela shot 12, Rodriguez with 10 points, Pao Pao Lim and Guevarra produced 6 points apiece, and Omar Galunan made 5 points.

Ceazar Tan finished with 20 points for the losing team with Buddy Eufre adding 12 points, Luigi Coo contributed 11, Joel Masadia and RJ Iligan shot 8 points apiece.*
