6 on garbage
team test positive

Six personnel of the Dynamic Builders–Solid Waste Management yielded positive results for drug use in a surprise drug testing conducted Sunday, Andrew Infante, operations manager of the firm, said yesterday.

Those who tested positive have already been terminated from their work, Infante said.

Two hundred seven garbage collectors, drivers and office staff went through the drug tests, Infante said.

“Our contract with the City Government of Bacolod does not require such (drug tests) from us but the management wants to keep the residents and commercial establishment safe from garbage collectors who, as part of their job, interact with them almost every day,” Infante said.

He said they also would like to apologize because garbage in some areas had not been completely collected due to the unannounced drug testing.

Last year, about 180 personnel of the firm were also tested for drug use, and two of them yielded positive results, Infante said.

Dynamic Builders has less than six weeks left in its contract with the city government but it is committed to serve the public efficiently and effectively until the end, Infante added.*SGG
