Foreign reserves rose
to $79.96 billion in May

The  foreign exchange operations of the central  bank  and net foreign currency deposits of the Treasurer of the Philippines helped boost the country’s foreign reserves to $79.96 billion in May 2014,a government press release said.

Data released by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas yesterday showed that the country’s foreign reserves in the fifth month this year is slightly higher than month-ago’s $ 79.84 billion and year-ago’s nearly $ 82 billion.

BSP’s GIR target this year is $ 88 billion.

‘27,775 vacancies
open for jobseekers’

Provincial Director Ma. Victoria Mondragon of the Department of Labor and Employment in Negros Occidental said yesterday that there are 27,775 work vacancies available for Negrenses in the job fair slated for Independence Day.

Mondragon said of the 27,775, there are 22,450 for overseas employment while the rest are from local companies.

She said the job fair on Friday will be participated in by 15 overseas recruitment agencies and 22 local firms.

Riverside offering
business course

The four-year Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship program is a four-year degree program which centers on how to start and manage a business by combining management, accounting, finance and marketing principles with an opportunity-seeking mindset.
