Lending standards for households registered a net tightening in the last quarter of 2013, the central bank said yesterday.
Results of the Senior Bank Loan Officers’ Survey for the fourth quarter of 2013, attributed the tighter lending standards for household to “perceived stricter financial system regulations and reduced tolerance for risk of banks.”
“In particular, banks’ responses indicated overall stricter collateral requirements for loans extended to households along with unchanged maturity period for loans on the whole,” the central bank said.
ERC okays P14-M CENECO plan
The Energy Regulatory Commission recently approved the application of Central Negros Electric Cooperative to implement an emergency capital expenditure project worth P14,831,150 for the operation of a power sub-station in Silay City, its president, Arnel Lapore, said yesterday.
Lapore said the 5-MVA substation at Hacienda Panaogao is expected to resolve the power problems in the area.
With the operation of the power substation in Hacienda Panaogao, there are now two power substations in Silay with the other in Hacienda Maquina, Barangay Rizal.

An ordinance seeking to promote and strengthen the chances of Bacolod as choice destination for national and international Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions, was filed by Sangguniang Panlungsod Member Jocelle Batapa-Sigue, a press release from the city said.
The ordinance is co-authored by Councilor Sonya Verdeflor and Councilor Cal Lopez.
