IRA for Mambukal
BY CARLA GOMEZ

Does Mambukal Resort, as a township, have a right to a share of the Internal Revenue Allotment?

Mambukal Resort, that covers 32 hectares, is a township that is not part of Murcia town, Acting Gov. Isidro Zayco said yesterday.

The provincial government is studying whether, as such, Mambukal can seek a share of the IRA like other towns and cities in the country, Zayco said.

We will raise the matter with the Department of Budget Management because if a share is allocated for Mambukal we can use it for the further improvement of the resort, Zayco said.

The governor is automatically the mayor of Mambukal under its township charter, Zayco said. Under the IRA the share of a province, city, and municipality is determined of population - 50 percent, land area - 25 percent, and equal sharing - 25 percent.*CPG
