Can churches reopen?
BY CARLA P. GOMEZ

The Diocese of Bacolod has prepared for the possible reopening of churches but it was unclear yesterday whether it would be allowed under a modified General Community Quarantine.

“We have long prepared for it, we have all the guidelines in place for when the time comes when we can reopen,” Bacolod Bishop Patricio Buzon said.

All the precautions, such as social distancing and hand washing, will be taken, he said.

“We are just waiting for government to give us the go signal…we will abide by whatever guidelines are given by the government,” he said.

The people are hungry to have the sacraments, Buzon said.

Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson said the reopening of the churches will depend on the guidelines to be released by the national Inter-Agency Task Force.*
