38 of 61 barangays submit
updated road clearing reports

About 38 out of the 61 barangays in Bacolod City have submitted their updated accomplishment reports on the ongoing road clearing operations in their barangays as of Friday, executive assistant Butch Soliguen said yesterday.

Soliguen, cluster head for Barangay Affairs, said that the deadline for them to submit theirreport on the total number of illegal structures that have already been removed and those that are set to be demolished, is tomorrow.

Department of Interior and Local Government-Bacolod director Ma. Joy Maredith Madayag said the DILG has set three reporting schedules – March 3, April 7 and May 8, which will be the final evaluation of the regional validation team.

Madayag said the city monitoring team will be conducting the validation for March.

Bacolod Mayor Evelio Leonardia issued Executive Order No. 09 series of 2020 creating the Bacolod City Road Clearing Monitoring Team following the deadline given by the DILG.

DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2020-027 dated Feb. 7 mandates all local governments to come up with significant results within 75 days or not later than April 30.

The monitoring team will be headed by the mayor as chairperson, Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran – co-chairperson, and City Administrator Em Ang – vice chairperson.

The members will be composed of Ligang Barangay president Lady GlesPallen, DILG-Bacolod director Ma. Joy MaredithMadayag, Bacolod Police Director Col. Henry Biñas, Fire Marshal C/Insp. PublioPloteña, District Engineer Abraham Villareal, City Legal Officer JoselitoBayatan, City Engineer Belly Aguillon, Bacolod Traffic Authority Office head Col. Luisito Acebuche, executive assistants Butch Soliguen and Ernesto Pineda.*
