Two Silay City residents paid fines of P3,000 each and issued ajoint public apology yesterday for indecent exposure while pole dancing during the Dinagsa Festival in Cadiz City, Negros Occidental, Mayor Salvador Escalante said.

Stephen Matti and John Rey Abella, in a signed public apology that they read at a press conference called by Escalante in Cadiz City yesterday morning, said they were sincerely apologizing for their inappropriate actions during the Dinagsa Festival Saturday.

Videos and photos of their indecent acts that were posted on social media went viral and drew the ire of the public. moremoremore

Senate report on NegOr killings out;
PNP, Army told to probe own ranks

Authorities should investigate the possible involvement of the police, the army, and vigilante group in the series of killings in Negros Island.

This was part of the recommendation of the Senate Committee Report No. 33 prepared by the Senate Committee on Public Order and Dangerous Drugs chaired by Senator Ronald dela Rosa, and the Committee on Justice and Human Rights of Senator Richard Gordon.

The joint committees recommended that the Philippine National Police-Internal Affairs Services should investigate complaints and gather evidence for possible filing of administrative and criminal liabilities against police personnel and units involved in Oplan Sauron, who may have committed abuses or violations of laws and/or the Revised Police Operational Procedures. moremoremore

Animal raisers receive
P5.059M in assistance

About 14 small and backyard livestock and poultry raisers in Negros Occidental received P5.059 million in assistance from the national government, Provincial Veterinarian Renante Decena said yesterday.

The Provincial Veterinary Office assisted the livestock and poultry raisers to avail of the loan program with the Land Bank of the Philippines through the Department of Agriculture ’s Agricultural Competitiveness Enhancement Fund , Decena said.

He also said the project is i n support to the sustainable growth of PVO - assisted animal raisers and associations.
