Prawn producers to help
NegOcc in ASF campaign

The Negros Occidental provincial government got a needed boost for its campaign against the spread of the African swine fever, Provincial Veterinarian Renante Decena said yesterday.

He said that the Negros Prawn Producers Cooperative has offered its laboratory to do confirmatory tests on suspected ASF cases in the province.

“We can use their facility for free, but we have to pay for the test kits,” he said. He added that the laboratory, that offers testing services, has been accredited by the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources.
