Negros taps Aklan
for pork oversupply

Negros Occidental has tapped the “big market” of Aklan for its pork oversupply, Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson said yesterday.

Lacson was in Capiz recently for the disposition of firearms and decommissioning of former fighters of the Revolutionary Proletarian Army–Alex Boncayao Brigade Tabara-Paduano Group that was led by President Rodrigo Duterte, when he got a chance to talk to Aklan Governor Florencio Miraflores.

They get their pork from Batangas in Luzon, but they recently issued an order to ban pork and pork products from Luzon following the scare over the dreaded African swine fever virus, he said.
