PDEA holds drug tests at terminals

The police force in Western Visayas, including Negros Occidental and Bacolod City, has been placed on full alert status for the Undas 2019.

“Undas” is the Tagalog word for All Souls’ Day, that is “Fiesta Minatay” in Ilonggo.

Agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Negros Occidental, meanwhile, are conducting random drug tests on drivers, conductors, dispatchers, and inspectors at terminals in Bacolod City. moremoremore

WV bridges not shelved

The Panay-Guimaras-Negros (PGN) island bridges project is on track, it has not been shelved, Lea Delfinado, Department of Public Works and Highways regional director 6, assured yesterday.

Socioeconomic Planning Secretary Ernesto Pernia did not include the PGN island bridges project among those shelved for being unfeasible,   Ro - Ann   Bacan, National Economic Development and Authority 6 regional director, also assured.

The projects shelved were the 18.2-kilometer Luzon (Sorsogon)-Samar bridge, 23-kilometer Leyte-Surigao bridge, and the 24.5-kilometer Cebu-Bohol bridge, Pernia announced last week. moremoremore

NAPC, Hinobaan partner
for poverty reduction

HINOBAAN – The National Anti-Poverty Commission has partnered with this local government unit on its poverty reduction campaign.

NAPC Secretary Noel Felongco signed a memorandum of understanding on the agency’s Sambayanihan Serbisyong Sambayanan program with Hinobaan Mayor Ernesto Estrao yesterday at the covered court here.

Felongco said the program “aims to spur the inclusive participation of the stakeholders at the barangay level.”
