Saril Bacolod Comelec OIC

A former election officer of La Carlota City will take the place of former Bacolod election officer Mavil Majarucon-Sia who was appointed Judge of the Municipal Trial Circuit Court of Ilog and Candoni, Negros Occidental.

Jan Anthony Saril is now the officer-in-charge of the Commission on Elections Bacolod Field Office.

Saril said he will continue the preparations started by Majarucon-Sia for the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections.

The House of representatives has approved the postponement of the barangay and SK elections to December 5, 2022.

Majarucon-Sia said earlier that she had applied for the position of MTCC judge before the Judicial Bar Council and underwent proper procedures that include a panel interview.

She has served the Comelec Manila for 15 years and six months, and the Comelec Bacolod for 12 years, she said.*
