VMA, La Salle split top honors
in college table tennis competition

The men’s table tennis team of the VMA Global College bagged the championship while the women’s team of University of St. La Salle remained as champion in NOPSSCEA Season 39 competition Saturday at the VMA Global Gym.

After failing to land in top three last year, VMA Global College dethroned La Salle with the quartet of Areanel Theofer Ariola, Ramar Guillermo, Jhon Romeo Villena, Angelico Tidor and Jhay Galbines earning the points needed to win the championship. The team is mentored by Engr. Paul Puentespina.

The La Salle team, composed of Elijah David Bomban, Nelgen John Ablao, John Rey Cantero, Jopet Epe, and Rodney Jarder finished first runner-up with Southland College settled for the second runner-up honors.

Sports tourism forum set Dec. 11

International, national and local lecturers are expected to share their success stories at the Philippine Sports Tourism Forum slated Dec. 11 at the Capitol Social Hall.

Joining the forum are sports and tourism officers from local government units in Negros occidental, sports clubs, sports and tourism NGOs, travel and tour operators, MICE Organizers, tourism stakeholders, and event organizers.
