NOPSSCEA SEASON 39
VMA, La Salle split top honors
in college table tennis competition

The men’s table tennis team of the VMA Global College bagged the championship while the women’s team of University of St. La Salle remained as champion in NOPSSCEA Season 39 competition Saturday at the VMA Global Gym.

After failing to land in top three last year, VMA Global College dethroned La Salle with the quartet of Areanel Theofer Ariola, Ramar Guillermo, Jhon Romeo Villena, Angelico Tidor and Jhay Galbines earning the points needed to win the championship. The team is mentored by Engr. Paul Puentespina.

The La Salle team, composed of Elijah David Bomban, Nelgen John Ablao, John Rey Cantero, Jopet Epe, and Rodney Jarder finished first runner-up with Southland College settled for the second runner-up honors.

In women’s competition, the Marell Lagunday-mentored USLS team retained the championship with a strong finish leaving behind Riverside College to pick up the first runner-up honors and Southland College at second runner-up.

The champion La Salle team is composed of Mariella Mabaquiao, Cherrica Michelle Uytiepo, Ashley Ann Santander, Alyssa Kyla Tolosa, Angeli Bayang, and Catherine Samson.

The members of the Riverside College squad that finished first runner-up is composed of Aiesha Marie Appe, Maribelle Avenido, Michelle Avenido, Johanna Marie To-os, Meryl Noelle Molina, and Kile Sarabosquez.*
